"transcoder: an archive", 2007

Design Studio 1 | Prof. Rebeca Mendez

"transcoder: an archive" is a joint effort by a group of artists and curators to expose audiences to "transcoder," a project developed by lorenz tunny. in part, "transcoder" is a software application designed to question queerness within computing languages.

this year, all work on "transcoder" was halted and confiscated by the american government, while tunny was accused of various copyright infringements and terrorist activities.

this archive attempts to provide the public with remaining documents of the original "transcoder" project--as materials of in/validation, halted possibilities, and ethical responsibility.
