Housing & Cost

Find up-to-date housing and cost information on the Summer Sessions site.

Program Fee

The program fee for a Session is $825.

Housing and Meals

Students may attend the Design | Media Arts Summer Institute as either Day Students or as Residential Students. We strongly encourage families to consider enrolling their child in the residential plan. By lodging together, students have the opportunity to get to know their classmates and UCLA better, and will be able to spend more time working on their art, and just relaxing. Choosing the residential option will also help alleviate any safety and time concerns inherent in an urban commute. Residential students will be supervised by the UCLA staff throughout the duration of their stay. Residential students are schedule to be housed in Hedrick Hall for this program.

The cost of housing is $375 per person (based on double occupancy) which includes 2 meals (breakfast and dinner) each day. There are a number of inexpensive eating establishments conveniently located around the UCLA campus where students can purchase their lunch each day.

Note: Students enrolling in consecutive sessions who want to stay on campus during the Saturday evening in-between the 2 sessions should contact Summer Sessions after registering for the program.
