[](#)[Prev](#) / [Next image](#) (1 of 1) MIN.IT is a concept clock that runs on processing and uses computer webcam to recognize post-its placed around the clock as input to trigger notifications. MIN.IT stands for Minimal, Intuitive Notification system with Integrated Time, and was designed to be a collaborative tool for multiple applications. This system creates a physical space where people can share their schedules at work, at home, in a club, or even for a family. Design MIN.IT is minimally designed in order to fit into the workflow of any environment. The setup of MIN.IT comprises of a webcam connected to a computer, and a clock with an hour hand. MIN.IT detects colors and can be calibrated for different lighting. Future Applications The technology behind MIN.IT can also have other applications, such as creating a communication platform for people who are not comfortable with technology. By creating a bridge between the virtual and the physical world, people can choose to send a text message by simply pasting a post it note on MIN.IT. By adding magnets, MIN.IT could also be used as a communication tool between family members in order to get notification about meals, groceries or transportation schedules. [](#)[Prev](#) / [Next image](#) (1 of 1) Through the intentional displacement of significant amounts of library books from an educational institution (UCLA Arts Library), 735.10 - 735.90 exposes the under-used books available to students by recontextualizing them in an art gallery. 735.10 - 735.90 challenges viewers to reassess the historic value of books and libraries by checking out a bookcase-worth of books from the library for a week. By wrapping the books in gold paper and placing a barrier around the bookshelf, they are stripped from their inherent function as a repository for information, highlighting the shift of books from a referential purpose to a reverential one. [](#)[Prev](#) / [Next image](#) (1 of 1) Phosphenes is an interactive performance program created in processing for a live performance with Lucky Dragon's song "What You See Is What You Mean". My initial vision was inspired by a Merry-go-round, due to the music’s cyclic rising and dropping of tones, and sun rays piercing coral reefs due to the ambient and calm sounds of the music. The final product incorporated other visual elements inspired by phosphenes, fireworks, and bioluminescence. Artistic influences also include James Turrell, Robert Hodgin, and 1960s light artists’ works. For the performance, this piece was controlled wirelessly through an iPad mini tablet equipped with TouchOSC. Controls available for control where the colors and opacity of the background gradient, and opacity of glowing orbs, which ultimately affected the length and intensity of the trail. Two separate modes also could be toggled from the iPad, the first one inverting the blending mode to “subtractive” which provided the aesthetic of fireworks, while the second mode toggled a central point of gravitation for particles to circle around. Other than that, I also had volume controls built in for fine adjustments, and a start button to begin the song and visuals remotely. The concept of speed and light are also demonstrated through the trails of lights in order to further accentuate the concept of difference in measurements when an object is in motion. Through the combination of moving and static elements in the same frame, these photographs alter the perception of the landscape in order to represent the concept of multiple realities based on your frame of reference.
